Questions about Membership?

Questions about Membership?

What are the benefits of membership?

Members of Families Canada gain access to and savings on various industry resources all year round such as advance invitations to participate in provincial and national programs and projects, free use of the E-valuation platform, and free and discounted rates to resources, trainings, and events. Visit our member benefits page to learn more.

How can I tell if my organization is already a member?

There are several ways to check if your organization is an active member of Families Canada.

  1. Log into the Member Portal, then click MY ACCOUNT > MY PROFILE > MEMBERSHIP tab. The membership tab will show your membership status whether it is active, lapsed, or archived. Only organizations with active memberships can access membership benefits. If your membership status is lapsed or archived, you will need to renew your membership or submit a new membership application.

If you do not see the MEMBERSHIP tab, this means that you were provided Member Portal access as a non-member to access and manage events that you may have signed up for or attended in the past. To become a member, please visit our membership page.

  2. If you do not have a Families Canada Member Portal account or are unsure if you have one, send an email inquiry to info@familiescanada.ca and we will let you know your membership status.

Where can I find my member discounts for the store?

Member discounts can be found in the member portal.

Why is my login not working?

Please make sure you are logging in using the correct URL: https://members.familiescanada.ca and that you are entering the correct email address and password (no extra spaces before and after). Try using the Forgot Password option if you forgot or are unsure of your password.

For more tips, please visit this guide: Why I cannot login to my account. For additional support with your login, don’t hesitate to send an email to info@familiescanada.ca.

Do I need a separate login for the store and the training portal?

Yes.

For the Store, there is no login requirement for either members or non-members. The login icon you see in the online store is the login to your personal Shopify account, and is not your login to the Training Portal or Member Portal.

For the Training Portal, each individual learner should have their own account. Staff of members and non-member organizations should create their own Training Portal account so they can enroll in courses, track their personal progress, and receive certificates in their name.

For the Member Portal, one staff member from each member organization should manage their membership account. Discount codes for various resources, trainings, and events can be found in the Member Portal and can be shared with staff members from the same member organization.

How can I set my membership to automatically renew?

When you submit your membership application or your renewal application, you will see an option that will allow you to set your membership to automatically renew. When you select this option, you will be sent an auto-renewal reminder 10 days prior to your next renewal date. The message will contain a reminder that your credit card will be charged on your renewal date. The message will also give you an opt-out option if you choose to unenroll your organization from automatic renewal.

How can I renew my membership before the renewal due date?

Members can check the renewal reminder emails and click on the renewal link in the emails to renew their membership. Additionally, the renewal button in your member portal becomes visible and clickable 60 days before your renewal date. If you would like to renew earlier than that, you may send an email request to info@familiescanada.ca to activate the renewal process of your account and make the renewal button visible in your account. You will receive an email with the renewal link which you can click to renew your membership.

How can I renew my membership after the renewal date has lapsed?

You have 30 days from renewal due date to renew your membership. After 30 days, you will need to submit a new membership application. You may also send an email request to info@familiescanada.ca to reactivate your account and receive an email with a new renewal link which you can then click to renew your membership.
